The Art of Attraction

We believe our guiding vision is that sharing knowledge and insight with our customers is the key to success for all. Acting as a community we strive to help our members improve their own sense of wellbeing – and one of the ways we do this is through our annual event: The Spirit of Lifeplus.

As well as being a celebration of our global community, The Spirit of Lifeplus focuses on the positive twin forces of inspiration and motivation. So we thought we’d take this opportunity to share with you our insights into the how and why of what motivates and inspires people to set themselves new and challenging goals for the future!

Firstly, what’s the difference between motivation and inspiration? Well, you could think of them as being flip sides of the same coin of achievement. Motivation is usually an external force – the thing that drives us to achieve more, to do things better. It can be mundane (getting up in the morning) or extraordinary (the determination to walk again after a crippling injury). However, it can also represent the fear of the consequences of not getting things done.

On the other hand inspiration is an internal fire – to be inspired is to lift your eyes and look beyond the horizon, to aim for something which has a higher purpose or ideal.

To achieve the most positive benefits motivation must always be accompanied by inspiration. New ideas, new ways of thinking or doing can, after all, be daunting – even frightening. Commitment to trying something new (whether that represents looking after your body a little better, to embark on brave new enterprise or radically changing another aspect of your life) requires that you make an investment – not in financial terms – but in dedicating yourself to achieving a worthy goal. Of course, making an investment in your future requires commitment, together with patience, perseverance and a willingness to work towards your ultimate target. Because ultimately, the most rewarding and long-lasting results are achieved by those who are in it for the long haul – by people, just like you – who are both inspired AND motivated about the future.

So why not start today – right now? Try something new. Embrace your future and get active about doing the things that will inspire and motivate you.
